WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO?
The SAVE FOUNDATION of Australian (Inc), is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) committed to saving the endangered species of Africa from extinction. Founded in 1987, the organisation has a broad range of activities, with a particular focus on the African black rhinoceros and Zimbabwe.
Unlike many other non-profit making organisations, it is a totally voluntary foundation, with all its expenses - secretarial, communications, and travel - sponsored by a private company.
We are totally independent, and not affiliated to any other organisation, party, or denominational group. However we do stay in contact with some relevant organisations or institutions to coordinate our respective efforts.
Funds are raised through a variety of events, trips and donations. All funds raised are committed to the action on the ground, for instance to support anti-poaching units.
We are very concerned to uphold, maintain, and demonstrate total accountability: we want you to have total confidence that your support goes where you intend it, and that it does some good for the causes we defend. For this, we invite you to read some letters from the field, as well as the previously mentioned yearly financial reports.
If you have some sympathy for this cause and wish to do your part, the SAVE FOUNDATION would welcome your involvement.

A top-ranking official in the National Parks of Zimbabwe said in a June 2004 speech:
"If it were not for the SAVE FOUNDATION of Australia, the black rhinoceros would be extinct in Zimbabwe by now"
This statement illustrates that together, we can make a difference!
VOLUNTEER support ensures the continued operation of the SAVE FOUNDATION. You too can help by:
- Joining the foundation and becoming a member;
- Joining one of the SAVE FOUNDATION trips to Africa, where you cancombine an unforgettable safari with a first-hand experience of the conservation projects in Zimbabwe, not available in regular tourist trips;
- Attending one of our events, or better yet, organising one;
- Making a donation, financial or material.
We are proud of the way we direct our funds to the parties that need it most.

MAKE A DONATION
Donations to the SAVE FOUNDATION are used almost entirely for the purchase of equipment, motor vehicles, spare parts, fuel, etc, for use in the field in Southern Africa, primarily in Zimbabwe, for actions supported by the foundation.
All administrative expenses and all travel to the field by committee members are paid for or donated by the committee members. There are no salaried staff at the SAVE FOUNDATION - all our time is donated.
Donations made in Australia are tax-deductible. We are currently working on getting tax-deductibility for donations made from other countries.
