Il Moran

Governors' Il Moran Camp is a small intimate camp of ten luxury tents, set under spreading fig trees along the banks of the Mara River, in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. Large comfortable tents feature super king-size beds, which are fashioned from ancient fallen olive trees, whilst the bathrooms have Victorian style baths to help soap away the day's dust in style.

This camp is for those who want to experience Africa at her most untamed and recreates the atmosphere of the original hunting camps of the Hemingway era. Tents are spacious, with full en-suite facilities furnished in traditional style, to savour the comforts of a bygone age. From this site, the BBC chose to film their "Big Cat Diary" series, which showed spectacular footage of the best of Africa's big cats.
