Cheli & Peacock - Elephant Pepper Camp

Kenya’s premier game reserve and wilderness area the Masaai Mara is the northern section of the great Serengeti/Mara ecosystem. The fertile plains of the Mara, threaded with verdant green riverine forest and dotted with clusters of croton supports an enormous amount of plains game and predators.  Every year, driven by a force incomprehensible to man, nearly two million wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River from Tanzania to graze on the lush grass  - a wildlife spectacle unrivalled anywhere in the world.

It is on the Koyiaki group ranch adjoining the Mara that Cheli and Peacock have their Elephant Pepper Camp. The eight-tented private camp is hidden in a grove of Warburgia ugandensis trees and offers visitors fully en suite facilities.  You are spoilt by friendly, attentive staff who bring you steaming hot water for your canvas bucket showers, prepare sumptuous meals and offer your favourite, ice cold cocktail as you relax around the camp fire in the evenings.  Bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners are arranged at some beautiful viewpoint where you can soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the bush whilst enjoying every comfort.

During your stay, explore the area in 4x4 safari vehicles in search of the Big Five.   Enjoy an exciting and interesting guided nature walk to see the smaller, yet no less intriguing inhabitants of this incredible eco-system where everything down to the tiniest beetle plays its part.  Afternoon game drives include sunset drinks and a return drive to camp after dark, giving you the chance to catch a few of the nocturnal creatures emerging such as the aardvark, bush-baby and genet cat.
