Kwando Lagoon Camp
Kwando Lagoon Camp is situated south of the Kwando River, at the point where the Caprivi Strip begins to curve down into Botswana. Lagoon Camp lies on the shady banks of the Kwando River among tall and ancient African ebony and marula trees. Lagoon Camp accommodates twelve guests in six twin bedded safari tents. The tents, which are simple in style, have en suite, open air facilities and overlook the water. The main area is under thatch and houses a dining room, lounge, bar and swimming pool.
Specialist guides and trackers in open safari vehicles conduct morning and night game drives. Predators are well represented by lion, hyena, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. These animals are generally very relaxed in the presence of vehicles, meaning the sightings are usually at close range. Among the great variety of antelope species found at Lagoon Camp, the endangered sable and roan are often seen.
Boat cruises along the Kwando River provide excellent opportunities for birding. Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy fly-fishing and spinner fishing for tiger fish and bream.
