JOHN MITCHELL-ADAMS

Destinations Africa was founded by John Mitchell-Adams after a lifetime involvement with Africa and its wild life. He was introduced to the Tourism industry when he became the Australian representative of a major South African Tour Operator. His wife, Hilary, is an integral part of the business. Although only introduced to Africa in 2003 – she is an Irish Lawyer – her passion for Africa is deep and profound!

John grew up on a farm in south eastern Zimbabwe and his love of African wildlife and the bush was developed from a very early age. He spent much time in the bush and game reserves in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya and Botswana and although now living in Australia he has maintained his enthusiasm for the natural habitats of Southern Africa. He has Africa in his soul and speaks Shona (a Zimbabwean African language) fluently. He will give of his experience and share his enthusiasm when accompanying group safaris to African wild life areas as well as giving first hand guidance on where to visit to individuals and families.

He has now relegated his former business interests in favour of committing his time to following his dream of introducing his clients to the magic of Africa.

Destinations Africa’s focus is on delivering only the very best in personalised services to wild life destinations that have all been vetted personally. Client safety, comfort, care and a promise of a trip that will inject the excitement and mystery of Africa and its people into the heart and soul of our clients, is the uncompromising core to Destinations Africa philosophy. Our Group Tours will always be accompanied by African experts who know the nuances and cultures of the countries to be visited to maximise client enjoyment.

Let him introduce you to this wonderful untamed land, its rich heritage and warm friendly people.  Join us as we witness the lion reign over his territory, the meerkats ferret for their insect breakfast and the impala glide through the air. We will move soundlessly in a makoro, through the tranquillity of the Water Lillies and hear the call of Africa as the Fish Eagle cries. We will bring the animals of Discovery and Animal Planet and “Things to Try Before you Die”, truly to life.

HILARY HORAN

Hilary was introduced to Africa in 2003 and became enthralled with the place, its people and especially the wild life. She is an integral part of Destinations Africa and she uses her love of writing to add to the content of our Message Stick as well as much of the detail on the web site. As a Director she is great sounding board for all the new destinations that we visit to determine whether or not they should be on our recommended list as she is able to see and experience the many places very much as our clients would.

TRACEY MORRIS

Tracey has been part of the Destinations Africa team since the inception of the business. She has a thorough knowledge of all our process and procedures and is now responsible for all financial transactions and accounting. When needed she becomes involved with planning itineraries or helps the other Travel Consultants when in any difficulty – a mistress of many skills! She will soon be based in Sydney as her husband has been transferred by the Air Force, however she will remain as a valued staff member albeit by working remotely.

SANDIE GOSPER

Sandie has been part of the Destinations Africa Team since February 2009 and is loving her job as a Manager. She was born and educated in Zimbabwe and also lived in Namibia for four years. She has lived in Australia since 1988 when she came here back-packing and met her husband Bruce. Africa is in her blood and her love for the continent is as strong as ever and she is thrilled to be able to introduce other people to the delights Africa has to offer. He clients are all most complimentary about Sandie and her approach to arranging travel.

FAYE HUBBARD

Faye joined Destinations Africa early in December 2009 and we welcome another South African to our staff. She has lived in Africa for most of her life and her love of African wild life has driven her into the travel industry where she hopes to be able to share her enthusiasm with our clients in planning wildlife safaris. She has a BSc. (Hons) majoring in animal behaviour. She has also completed a course in International Wildlife Rehabilitation. Her work experience includes that of Pachyderm Keeper at the Johannesburg Zoo.
